Adventures of Riverlea Farm Book Six

Welcome to the Adventures of Riverlea Farm in South Africa!

Book Six is a stand alone special edition all about show poultry. Jon-the-Vet has a very large hobby breeding a wide variety of show chickens. This book introduces the reader to the process of washing, and occasionally blow-drying (!) chickens as they get ready to be judged at the Royal Show. A few of Jon-the-Vet's favorite Bantam and large breed chicken are shown. Book Six finishes with a chicken to breed name matching activity, along with a "Did You Know" page dedicated to show poultry of South Africa.

Through rhyme and humor, and occasional life lessons, children will enjoy the adventures to be found on a farm in South Africa. The series has been written by Penelope Alison, a speech language pathologist, for the language enrichment of children ages two to seven. The series can also serve as a reader for children in grades two to three looking to expand their reading skills.
